Qatar University Signs Cooperation Agreement with Qatar Youth Hostels

Qatar University signed Tuesday a cooperation agreement with Qatar Youth Hostels to promote joint cooperation in the field of community service and community work through various events, programs and activities within and outside the university.

The agreement was signed for Qatar University by Director of Services and Student Activities Abdullah Al Yafeai and for Qatar Youth Hostels by Deputy Executive Director Mohammed Yousif Al Atbi.

The agreement aims to enhance consultation between the two sides in the exchange of experiences, systems and information available to each of them, especially in the field of volunteering, for the mutual benefit from the experiences and services.

The agreement also aims to benefit from the stadiums and halls, and to provide rooms for students and delegates participating in various events at Qatar University at low prices.

It also provides for the provision of activities and trips for Qatar University students and cooperation with the University in the various events, including the organization of workshops for scholarship students about the values and customs in Qatar and the possibility of providing reservation service in the network of youth hostels around the world for students.

In a press conference following the signing of the agreement, Abdullah Al Yafeai said that the cooperation between Qatar University and Qatar Youth Hostels stems from the responsibility of the university in the graduation of outstanding national talents capable to contribute effectively to the future of the nation and homeland.

He noted that the agreement will provide a number of cultural activities which will help the students in strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation among them through internal leisure trips and external explorations, and in exploring new cultures and civilizations. The agreement will enable the students to visit the gyms and playgrounds that belong to Qatar Youth Hostels Which will enrich student life at Qatar University effectively.

For his part, Mohammed Yousif Al Atbi said that the agreement will come into effect from now on for two years and represents support from Qatar University for Qatar Youth hostels, noting that Qatar University is the nation’s leading university and has the largest number of Qatari students.

He underlined that this cooperation will lead to wider community support in aspects related to migration, capacity-building and volunteering. It will also offer a number of services to scholarship students abroad, including tourism trips and the use of the reservation system in the network of youth hostels around the world.
