Expanding Benefits To Qatar Youth Hostels Members, Membership rises to 3,000
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeIn”]Qatar Youth Hostels has recently confirmed a rise in its membership. The number of registered members has reached over 3,000 youth from both genders across different age categories.
Commenting on the growth, Mr Ahmed Al Ajami – General Manager of Qatar Youth Hostels – has said, “Qatar Youth Hostels is an integral part of the International Movement of Youth Hostels all over the world. Our doors are open for anyone who has the desire to join us.” He explained that Qatar Youth Hostels membership comes with a number of benefits, most importantly providing the youth with secure and clean accommodation, with over 4,000 youth hostels in different parts of the world.
Mr Al Ajami also indicated that membership at Qatar Youth Hostels will grant youth easy access to the international youth hostel movement, which in turn yields several benefits. For instance, they will receive priority in reserving a place, discounts and invitations to a host of activities and trips to various youth hostels all over the world. He also confirmed that all members will get a 20% discount when staying at various international youth hostels.
He also encouraged youth to use their membership by traveling more and going on adventures, attending youth conferences and visiting other countries within the GCC or other parts of the world.
Mr Al Ajami promoted the idea of discovering the world, while paying lower prices. Additionally, he commented on the benefits of Qatar Youth Hostels, inviting youth to make use of all available facilities within the youth hostel such as: video games, the rich international library, tennis table and the Majlis area. Moreover, he stated that all members get discounts at many hospitals including Magrabi Medical Centre that offers a 50% off.
Mr Al Ajami proceeded to say that the price for a one year membership is 60 QAR, and all you have to present is a personal photograph, along with a copy of your ID or passport, and a completed application form to be able to enjoy all benefits.
Ms Halima Al Azkoy – Public Relations and Marketing Executive explained that there are various types of membership including: Working Members – for Qataris only – which grants you all the benefits and the ability to contribute in all of the activities and programs; Associate Members – a limited time membership which is available for Qataris and non-Qataris, for young people under the age of 18, with all the benefits and affiliated rights; Honorary Members – which includes members who have rendered great services to the country and the nation, Qatar Youth Hostels or any other entity in the field of youth work. Honorary Membership is granted by approval of the executive board.
She also stated that the conditions of membership are as follows: Members should be 18 years or above, excluding the case of associated members. Moreover, young people who have a desire to join Qatar Youth Hostels should be well behaved and have a good reputation, not have a criminal record or have received a final judgment issued by the court unless the judgment was dropped and his/her innocence was proven. In addition, members should not have a record of being expelled from a youth hostel before for reasons related to behavior, or national values and conventions of the country.
She also mentioned the rights and duties of the members, which include working on accomplishing the intended goals of Qatar Youth Hostels and avoiding anything that can harm the entity or its reputation. She also advised potential members on abiding by the regulations, rules and the general systems implemented inside the hostel, following the instructions of the management, providing advice to the management when needed, participating in activities and programs of the hostel, collaborating with other members when needed, and not vandalizing any of the facilities inside the hostel.
Qatar Youth Hostels joined Arab Youth Hostels in December 1983 and the International Youth Hostels in June 1986. It gained the advanced certificate in quality from the International Federation for Youth Hostels (Hosteling International) in October 2015. The vision of Qatar Youth Hostels is based on leading passionate young people towards the discovery of the world and enables them to have a high level of awareness and positive interactions with a diversity of cultures.
